Tech Star: Cheryl Foerster (AES)

Sherrie Foerster, AES

Sherrie Foerster has been teaching First Grade at Alton for many years, and she is always willing to use new technology to keep her students focused. Her latest endeavor is using iPod shuffles with her students to learn basic skills. Her six and seven year olds are learning to read and count in a fun way, using lots of songs and other fun recordings that they listen to on their little green shuffles. She also uses her SMART Board on a daily basis to play fun learning games, and her students enjoy a learning center of four computers. Congratulations, Mrs. Foerster, for being this week's Tech Star! We are always proud to recognize educators who continue to grow and try new things as technology changes.
