As I am in the midst of helping students film videos, I came across Kapwing, a video editor that lets you easily add subtitles to video. You can sign into Kapwing via your Google account.  You can either upload the video you would like to edit directly or paste a URL link.  Since most of our videos are stored in Google Drive, we uploaded a link (make sure link sharing is turned on). 
Videos must be under 8 minutes long to upload. Once it's uploaded (and this can take a few minutes to complete), you'll see all the options you have for adding the subtitles such as font, size, location, and if you want the words highlighted. 
To add the subtitle, click where it says "Write you subtitle here..."

You can add multiple subtitles and time when you want each to start and end.  After clicking the create button you can download your video.
