Tech Star: Staci Stephens, BMS

When you walk into Staci Stephens' 6th grade math class you would never believe that this is only her second year to teach!  Staci looks as comfortable in her classroom as a seasoned, veteran teacher.  Not only does she have a laid-back, easy way of communicating with her students, she is constantly keeping them engaged with technology-rich activities.  I have had the pleasure to work with Staci on several occasions and am amazed at her effortless management style and the classroom culture she has built with her students.  Two of my favorite activities of Staci's were using Voki to create speaking tutorials and also Staci's use of Jog-the-Web and Wallwisher to respond to graphs online.  Staci also created a Smore page for her students for Pi Day at BMS and even authors a blog about her classroom experiences.  Staci also attended SXSWedu with me last week and wrote about her favorite session, 10 Hands On Tools to Boost Creativity.  Staci is definitely a BISD teacher to watch!  I can't wait to see what she does next!
