Tracy Campbell, BHS English Department Chair, is being recognized this week as Tech Star! Mrs. Campbell has always encouraged technology use in her classroom, but this year she took it to a new level. After attending WOW academy, Mrs. Campbell received a Chromebook Cart. Her classroom has gone paperless. During the spring, 2013 semester, only two assignments involved paper. Students access and submit all assignments online. Since many colleges also follow this protocol, these students will be well prepared. Critical thinking is encouraged through Project Based Learning. While studying The Great Gatsby Novel, students create a Gatsby Celebration. Groups used technology to plan and implement a specific part of the celebration such as invitations. If you want to know anything related to Google Groups, Mrs. Campbell is an expert. On May 18, Mrs. Campbell presented at the Texas Google Summit. She is an amazing teacher and technology advocate.
