We talk a lot about the 4 C's:
collaboration,
communication,
creativity, and
critical thinking skills and how they are important for today's learners, but when you add a fifth C -
Cangelosi - you really get to see technology being used in a meaningful way! Mrs. Cangelosi often gives her 4th Graders a
choice (another C!) of Web 2.0 tools to use for their assignments. Along with a rubric (to make sure they cover the necessary objectives), she gives them time to explore and figure out how to complete their assignments. They love having the opportunity to be creative. These things provide buy-in from the students who then want to do good work. Some of Mrs. Cangelosi's students' favorite tools are
