Ever clicked on a parent's name in gradebook to open their email address and had it try to open Outlook? Wah wah wah. :) With just a few clicks you can set your Chrome browser to use Gmail as the default mail client! Find the double diamond icon in your omnibox and click on it. Choose allow and click done. Now, when you click on an email hyperlink, Gmail will open a new compose window!
