Making Connections Monday: #BHSwired Mike Krueger ... he's more than maintenance! #IChooseBrenham

You may already know that Mike Krueger is the the Maintenance Supervisor for Brenham High School. You may even know that he has been at BHS since the very first day the building opened 20 years ago! What you may not know is that Mike Krueger is an incredibly talented singer and performed Tim McGraw’s “If You’re Reading This” for the Brenham High School Veteran’s Day Program in November of last year.

Mike has been singing all his life and has had opportunities to meet incredible singers and musicians since opening a local venue that hosts a bi-weekly karaoke show. Although Mike is a quiet, humble man in person, he can belt out old country classics like Conway Twitty’s “Goodbye Time” when he gets on stage. “I take deep breaths and TRY not to be nervous,” Mike shared. When Mike performed at Brenham High School, the staff and students went wild and Mike received a standing ovation.

Mike Krueger starts every day by programming the daily events in the Building Controls Computer at Brenham High School. The rest of his day is spent completing work orders and attending to daily needs that arise in order to keep the campus operating. “This building covers 325,000 square feet, so there's always a issue or work to be done,” Mike said. However, when the day is done, don’t be surprised to find Mike on stage with a microphone in his hand enjoying karaoke night at his favorite local venue!
