Fab Find Friday: New activity on Flippity.net

Have we told you how much we LOVE flippity.net in Brenham ISD?  The folks at @flippitynet keep adding excellent activities to their site that are fully compatible with Google Sheets.

Their newest addition is Flippity Typing Test.  Easily turn a Google spreadsheet into a typing speed tester.

You can choose from a default passage they already have created for you, examples below:

Another great reason for having flippity.net and Google Sheets as a cohesive team is that you can fully edit the titles, description, and passages that your students can type onto.  So you are basically killing two birds with one stone, you are allowing:
  • Students the ability to read a selected reading passage, blog, article, etc of your choosing.
  • Secondly, you are also having students practice their typing skills.

Once you have your passage entered, then it's time to get your students typing.  Don't forget to publish your sheet to the web, select the 2nd tab at the bottom, and provide your students the correct link.  Enjoy!!!

Don't forget to check out all the other amazing tools @flippitynet has to offer!  I especially love their version of a "Jeopardy" style quiz show.  Fully editable fields and students can play in teams!

Also, check out their group maker (Random Name Picker), and their version of the tournament bracket!  I've seen tons of these in the past, and none of them compete with this simplistic one.  Especially important to have available for your class since March Madness is fast approaching.
