Fab Find Friday: FutureMe Website- Write a Letter to Your Future Self

While browsing some of my favorite hashtags on Twitter, I discovered this AMAZING website. FutureMe is a website where you can type a letter and send it to your email in five years, three years, one year, or in thirty days.

It is pretty simple. You just start typing the letter that you want to send. Then decide if you want to deliver it in one year, three years, five years, or choose a specific date (it has to be at least thirty days). Decide if you want it private or public. Lastly, put in the email address you want to send it to and click send to the future.

How would this be helpful?
  • You could have students write to their self at the end of the school year, and you could compare their writing to the beginning of the year to the end of the year.
  • You could have the students write about everything they know about a certain topic now and send it to themselves at the end of the year. Then at the end of the year, you can compare how much more you have learned about this topic.
  • Students could write future goals to themselves. They could send it to themselves when they are a senior or in a few years.
*Keep in mind- if they want to write to themselves after they graduate, remind them to use a personal email since their school email will be deactivated once they graduate.
