Tuesday Tech with Troy: Mote - Record Audio Quickly in Google Classroom, Drive, and Slides

We are always looking for ways to make your life in the classroom simpler.  With the Chrome extension Mote, you can quickly record audio into your Google Classroom, Docs, or Slides to provide feedback or short instruction.

The Mote extension allows you to record up to 90 seconds.  When you finish your recording, you can play it back to listen.  If you like it, then click the insert button on the Mote menu and it will be added to Classroom, Docs, or Slides.

To use Mote in Docs or Slides, simply highlight the area you would like to make a comment.

A comment box appears but this time shows a the Mote symbol. Click it and then start recording your message.

In Classroom, you will see the option to add a comment in the stream.

If you would like to keep track of any "Motes" you have made, you can click the extension icon and you will see this drop down of settings, as well as the tab - My recent motes - which then will display any you have recorded.

Does it save you a lot of time instead of typing - hopefully.  But perhaps more important it gives you another option of leaving comments or directions that includes your voice.
