Digital Citizenship Tip:
Posting W/ Your COVID Vaccine Card

**Information and/or opinions shared in this post are in regards to the security of your personal information that could potentially be shared online. The decision of opting in-or-out of the vaccination is strictly up to you.**

Like many people around the world right now, you may be extremely elated and excited to have received your COVID-19 vaccination! Congrats if you have received your first and/or second dose. However, before you hop onto Tik-Tok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites, please heed this warning in regards to posting a photo of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card.

Posting photos with these cards could leave you vulnerable to identity theft and scams, experts warn. Included on this card is your first name, middle initial, and last name, date of birth, and location of shot. Posting this information online could allow others access to finding your social security number and/or identity theft.

Some alternative suggestions: post a photo of you with your "I got vaccinated" sticker, or a photo of your arm with your shiny new Band-Aid. Yes, there is an important saying to live by in the world of digital citizenship, "oversharing is never a good thing on social media!" So, play it safe, and don't share photos of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card. I got these tips and digital citizenship suggestion from a video being shared around online, take a look:

Enjoy, be safe, and happy (responsible) sharing!
