Right-Click to Edit Bookmarks


Your bookmark bar in Google Chrome is valuable retail space for your most important bookmarks.  Have you ever organized or cleaned up your bookmarks?  You can start right now with this quick tip.  If you right-click, (Alt + click on a Chromebook), over a saved bookmark, you can easily edit what it's currently named.  Here's some helpful tips to get you organizing your bookmark bar quickly:

🍏 Double check and make sure you can view your bookmark bar.  If you can't see your bookmark bar, click on the three vertical dots in the upper-right hand corner of your Chrome Browser, click on "Bookmarks", hover over and click on, "Show Bookmarks Bar".

🍏 To save any website as a bookmark, go up to the Omnibox (URL address bar) and click on the star to bookmark and save the current website you are viewing.  The "edit menu" that pops up when first saving a bookmark is the same edit menu we'll be coming back to in the next step. 

🍏 Once you start saving a few bookmarks, you can start editing to your liking.  To do this, RIGHT-CLICK on any saved bookmark in your bookmark bar, hover down and click on "Edit."

🍏 Rename any of your bookmarks to something shorter or simpler, and something that will take up less room in your valuable bookmark space.  ➡️ A great tip is to leave the rename box blank.  Save the bookmark without typing in a title of your bookmark, only the icon (favicon) will be left behind.  

🍏 Finally, If you really want to go above and beyond with your bookmarks, use foldersIf you want to add folders to your bookmark bar, click on the three vertical dots in the upper-right hand corner of your Chrome Browser, click on "Bookmarks", hover over and click on, "Bookmark Manager".  Add folders, move folders and saved bookmarks around, and edit to your heart's content.  :)
