Removing Backgrounds On Video Clips With UnScreen

Want a quick way to remove the background of a video? Unscreen can create GIFS with no background. There are two free versions, one is just by accessing the website and the other is by creating an account with them. These two free versions give you 5-second videos with no background OR if you sign up for an account you get 10-second videos with no background. These are great for making GIFs. 

Unscreen is pretty simple to use. All you do is click Upload Clip and select which clip you want. It will automatically remove the background and produce a nice little GIF. 

Here is an example of my son in the backyard pretending to be Darth Vader. As you can see it's a little rough around the edges. Once you app smash with Canva though, the possibilities are endless!

Logging into Canva, you will want to create either a TikTok video or an Instagram Story. This will change the size settings to fit any video you make. Then, you look for a relevant background under Elements>Photos. I selected a space-themed one so that it looked like Darth Vader was on the Death Star. After I added the photo to the background, I then uploaded my GIF from UnScreen and placed it where I thought it looked best. And voila! I now have a short clip of Darth Vader spinning in a circle.
