If you are using Screencastify for screen recordings, then you may have noticed that yesterday (October 3) you are no longer able to download your recordings to mp4 file format with the free version. Instead, it will be saved as a WEBM file which may cause issues in your sharing of the video with students if not careful.
Losing that ability may seem like it would cause some to look for another alternative for free screen recording. While are there other ways out there, such as built-in recording on Chromebooks, you can still use Screencastify by converting your webm file to mp4 using a video converter site converter such as FreeConvert or Cloudconvert.
Alternatively, you can export it directly to your Google Drive from Screencastify as well. So while the changes may have seemed like they would be a deterrent, they really aren't.
