5 New Flippity Activities!
Everyone that knows me, knows that I'm a HUGE fan of Flippity.net. Mostly because it's the greatest website out there for when you need to easily create a digital activity for your students. This website also has multiple non-digital activities that can be created and then printed off for your students.
We have multiple blog posts from the past that cover all the ins-and-outs of flippity.net! Type flippity into our search and see some of our favorites. A while back, I actually broke down each Flippity activity and what it can do via another bisdwired blog post, HERE.
Now, just in time for the 2020 - 2021 school year, Flippity has added 5 new activities to take classroom engagement to the next level. The 5 new activities are:
- Flippity Randomizer
- Flippity Board Game
- Flippity Leader Board
- Flippity Word Cloud
- Flippity Self Assessment
Below I go into more detail about each new activity. Head on over to Flippity.net and take a look at all their activities. Each activity is tied to a Google Sheet. Click on each activity template to make your own copy to edit and provide your students!
Turn a Google spreadsheet into a set of randomizer wheels.
Great for creating writing prompts, and or telling a story (story starters). Also, this is a fun way to engage in student conversations. Randomize the choices and let the fun begin.
Turn a Google spreadsheet into a virtual board game.
Fun way to easily cover content. Have students create their own board games, or use for review activities. Also, you could use this board game as an incentive board during the school day to unlock new rewards during the day.
Turn a Google spreadsheet into a mobile friendly leaderboard.
Great activity to progress monitor students, groups during PBL projects, sporting activities, school fundraisers, and so much more!
Type in words and generate a word cloud! Fun for describing key characters from a story, or describing a plot. Also fun to create word clouds describing your favorite thing about the first day of school, or using adjectives to describe other things.
Turn a Google spreadsheet into a self assessment quiz.
Great way to have the students self assess themselves before a quiz or test. Fun activity for entrance/exit tickets before or after instruction.
Enjoy!
