Insert Audio for Google Slides

Insert Audio for Google Slides

Update to an old post:  Over a year and a half ago, Google made one of the BEST updates of all time!  They added the ability to insert audio into your Google Slide presentations!  However, many people I talk with still didn't realize this amazing update even happened!  So, how do you do it?

  • First, save your audio files to your Google Drive.  I save all my mp3 files in a Google Drive folder called: [Audio Files].
  • Next, while in your Google Slide Presentation, go to Insert > ðŸ”ŠAudio
  • Choose your audio file from your Google Drive!  and Voila!
  • Now you will see the audio icon with a time stamp within your slide presentation.  You will also have advanced audio playback options under Format Options.
  • Choose to have the audio just for this slide, or multiple slides.
  • This is a great way to provide audio recorded text, directions, and much more to your students.

Archived Post from 2019:

Finally!!  I know, like many of you, I've been waiting for this update for YEARS!  Over the past year, I have been using the AudioPlayer Extension for Google Slides from the AMAZING @edtechteam.  Now, Google has listened to their users, and has added the ability to insert music into your Google Slides Presentations.

Enjoy!  Now go out and rock your presentations!

Insert music to play on just one slide or throughout your presentation!  Also (which I CAN'T wait to try this), record audio or audio notes for your students using a voice recorder (I use Vocaroo), and insert these recordings into your Google Slide presentation.
