Thursday Connections: Cub Nation Station: A NEW Podcast That You'll WANT To Check Out! @BrenhamISD #IChooseBrenham

Telling the Story of the
First Public School Distict in Texas (1875)

Our very own Director of Communications & Community Relations, Jessica Johnston, has started a fantastic podcast highlighting the great things going on both in and out of Brenham ISD in Brenham, TX.

As our district Public Relations Director for the past 4 years, Jessica Johnston has given both our teachers and students a voice by telling our district's story, innovating our district communications department, and leading the charge in PR of our district and across the state via social media, conference presentations, and adapting innovative PR strategies that are being implemented right now in our district.

One of those innovative PR strategies being implemented this year is the creation of our very own district podcast: Cub Nation Station.

Jessica details the purpose of the podcast on the BISD Cub Nation Station website:

Brenham is known for more than bluebonnets and Blue Bell; we're also home to the first public school district established in the great state of Texas.  We've been leading the way in public education since 1875!  Join the Cub Nation Station each Wednesday as staff members and students share what's new in the Brenham Independent School District.  It's a great day to be a Brenham Cub!

The Cub Nation Station podcast is currently available on: Anchor, Breaker, Google Podcasts, Overcast, Radio Public, and Spotify.  Here is a snippet from one of the podcast sessions via a welcome back message from our BISD Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson:

Are you from outside our district and not sure what you'll get out of this podcast?  No worries, Jessica Johnston has already thought of that.  Through her wonderful interviews and questions, she's been receiving responses and insight from administrators, teachers, and students in regards to:
  • Polices, procedures, and more!
  • Innovative instructional strategies being implemented by educators right now in our district!
  • Curriculum insights and ways our district educators are reshaping the ways this is being presented to students.
  • Engaging ways administrators are dealing with behavior, engagement, and both student and teacher incentives.
  • And so much more!
Enjoy listening to the Cub Nation Station Podcasts NOW!
